I'm a stupid beginner with Allegro v3.0 and because of this I would say that my questions are stupid, too. =:) But I think that the faq and the docs are not the best to learn and to handle it fast and good. Only one simple example for each function would be a very good help for guys like me. But okay ... I hate it too to write docs ... ;) ... I've just managed to show a simple picture / to activate the mouse support and play a midi ... oh ... a simple "hello" is there, too. The datas are packed in the allegro size and append to the exe file after it was packed. So far so good ... :-) ... my source (it should be a nice looking setup if it's ready) is attached to know about what I'm talking and to make it simple to help me. Yes ... I know that this is none binary group ... but it's only a simple text file ... Here are my problems / questions: On the first picture I want to display another little pcx picture (a logo) and move it randomly around ... but all my tries to display it destroys the first palette of the background picture. What can I do to display it on the background and how can I move it randomly around ? I want to add a scrolled text in the last screen line also ... but I can't found something about this in the docs ... what can / must I do to scroll a simple text (with a special font) such like in the demo ? In the demo is the scrolled text as data included in the dat file ... how can I create those file to inlcude my own text in my own dat file and how can I use it then to scroll it on the screen without the destroying of the background picture ? Sorry ... but I never wrote a scroller till now ... Another thing is this with the midi ... if I hear the original midi under BUG95 it is great ... but the same midi included into the program is very dull and I hear less instruments ... what can I do to fix this problem ? Why is it so ? I think it's very easy if I know how to do all these things ... but it's always and with all things so ... first we must know how and then it's very easy ... ;-) ... BTW: I'm a beginner in the programming with djgpp and C++ too ... I come from Borland Pascal v7.0 and english is not very easy for me because my last english I've learned is about 12 years old. ;) Bye, ^Hawk^ - the DarkSoft-Productions. Home of VGA-Planets addons.
