I'm in the process of taking some PC training. The course runs in a full screen dos box (I think) has wonderful graphics and was working fine. I started I by clicking a dos icon, a dos window asked to insert my student ID 3.5" floppy. The app then started and asked me my student ID 8 chars max to form an 8.3 file name in fact. It stopped working, failed to find the fiile untill I put in LFN = N in the start up bat file. I had it set to Y to run some dj stuff. I do not know what the application is written in, it may be turbo c or anything. I guess I'm a bit mixed as to where to put LFN = Y, djgpp.env or autoexec.bat. I have both right now and work rounds. Regards Ian.
