From my point of view only a brain damaged man could take such a stupid desition, but yes the new standard says that... You can't do it automagically. I'll see if I can add some Emacs like syntax selecting (using a comment in the first line) but I don't like it. Another option could use C shl for any file without extention, but that's very silly. If you are using RHIDE 1.4.5 you can do it manually, just press ALT+L when editing the file and select the shl you want.
