I'm using gcc 2.8.1, allegro : 3.0, under win95. The code looks fine. Try installing the timer module; I'm not sure whether or not it will make a difference though. Try using volume 0x7f instead of 0x40, too. The MIDI messages you're sending look fine. I suggest you find out what MIDI driver Allegro decided to use -- perhaps it didn't autodetect your sound card properly. Does ex16 work? I can't test and fix the program myself since the computer I'm using has neither djgpp nor Allegro nor a sound card -- sorry. -- george DOT foot AT merton DOT oxford DOT ac DOT uk xu do tavla fo la lojban -- http://xiron.pc.helsinki.fi/lojban/lojban.html
