Hello world

I'm looking for some information about DirectX. Is this library
available for djgpp?Where can we get it?
Do you think it is worth programming with directX or is a library as
Allegro complete enough for game programming? Is it hard programming
with directX(do you have to be use to windows routines,messages...,or is
all this stuff managed by directX )? And what about 3d : are they
advanced fonctions?
