DJGPP is a do-it-yourself compiler. We don't hold your hand throughout the process; we supply all the information you need and leave it up to you to actually go to the effort of using it. If you become lost or confused along the way, you can ask here and we'll help you the rest of the way. That said, here's where to go to find the information you want. The first is in the v2 directory of every SimTel DJGPP mirror site; it's called 'readme.1st'. It contains complete, precise instructions for determining your needs, downloading the files, and installing them. The second is online at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/zip-picker.html. This is an automated tool that asks you what your needs are for DJGPP and recommends specific packages to download. I highly recommend it if you are confused. The third major resource is the DJGPP Frequently Asked Questions list, available from SimTel as v2/faq210b.zip or online at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/v2faq/. This is the definitive source of all common DJGPP questions and precise answers or instructions for solving them. Please read the FAQ through at least once; you'll be better for it. For quick reference, you should absolutely read at least chapters 1 through 6. Hope this helps! -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- | John M.
