So you are trying to spawn a PMODE/W (i.e. Watcom-compiled) application 
from within a DJGPP program which uses Allegro, right?  This might be the 
reason of your trouble.  (Sorry, you mantioned PMODE/W, PMODE/DJ and 
CWSDPMI and I got confused and never saw the significance of this 
earlier.)

Which version of CWSDPMI did you use?  Is it the latest r4?
