(no sounds can be heard). Its a true Soundblaster 16, and it has always been a bit dodgy (driving games always seem to make the sound stop working, as do some others), but only things which actually the use the sound card have crashed it before. I wonder if anyone has a clue how RHIDE or DJGPP (sorry, don't know which, although I guess it's probably DJGPP) could crash the sound card. If nothing else, it might give me an idea what is wrong with my sound card. Thanks to anyone who replies. Hallam
