There a two way around this: 1. Edit the pictures with a graphic programm (for examples PaintShop Pro), so that they have the same palette. This could cause some ugly colors in your pictures, because the colors must be reduced. 2. Use the truecolor modes in allegro, there is no palette and you don't have to worry about them. Ingo
