It would be nice if, instead of silently removing the programs, you would post here some minimal information about the crashes and other problems. Like the stack traceback printed at the time of crash, or those mysterious ``error messages'' you mention. Then at least the future versions of the software could be improved, and you may even get replies about how to avoid the crashes.
