Do read it. Basically, you write the source (called, say, `foo.cc') in an editor of your choice, and compile with something along the lines of: gxx -o foo foo.cc If you are using RHIDE, then I'm not sure, but there should be a "Compile" menu that is fairly self-explanatory.
