Actually, there are "smart" auto-mailers out there that can figure out most common forms of hiding one's email address, even to the point of lifting addresses from the body of your posts. I tried "nospamming" my address for several weeks, and still got spam email. After a while, it gets so tiresome replying to each one that I just delete it all. I know this isn't the ideal way to handle it, but I don't see how it can be stopped without active legislation to prevent it. Nevertheless, is it so worth it to skip those couple of annoying emails that you run the risk of annoying people that you actually care about? I don't accept that "nothing is going to change" argument. We failed miserably at combatting spam in the first place; at the very least we can fight this. Even though I don't pay per-time for my Internet access, I still hate getting bounced emails telling me that I failed to notice somebody's anti-spam protection. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- | John M.
