The perl on e: is a port that I got from my travels over in djgpp. I have ActiveState's Perl for Win32 at c:\perl5\bin. I tried using the perl on c: (ActiveState) with the Apache and the machine did *not* access the floppy drive. I went and got the latest OmniHTTPd server, "professional" version, installed it, and tried it using both perls. Using the perl on e: (djgpp), OmniHTTPd tried to access the floppy drive, but didn't when I used the perl on c: (ActiveState) I then moved the perl on e: (djgpp) to c: and tried it with both servers. The machine tried the floppy both times. *So* ... that answers that question, I guess. -- mrw
