Message-Id: <34C3922B.BDDBBD5D@lps.u-psud.fr> Date: Mon, 19 Jan 1998 19:49:31 +0200 From: Daniel Taupin Mime-Version: 1.0 To: DJGPP List , taupin AT lps DOT u-psud DOT fr Subject: Strangr diag with cat.exe Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Precedence: bulk When I run some perl 5.004-02 script with an inserted command `cat some-file` I sometimes get the answer: c:\c\bin\cat.exe: cannot open Of course it does not say what it cannot open. Of course I tried to "cat" normal, non-existing, hidden, system and read-only files, and I never got that message. Thus my question: Is this message inside the source of "cat.c", or is it a message coming from perl which would say it cannot open cat.exe for executing? -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel Taupin, Physique des Solides, Univ.
