The hard disk may less noise as the compiler worked away so I suppose it did what you expected. I read in a computer magazine that we'll all have gigabytes of RAM and terrabytes of hard disk space before long. I won't know what to do with gigabytes of RAM unless I can address it, and if I can, it's going to take a computer 100 times faster than present PCs to run programs which require that much RAM. Things are moving swiftly however. An 800 mhz 64-bit merced with 6 128-bit registers will almost do it for me. You are certainly on my list of valuable resources. I hope I don't need too much help as I move on to transcribing the assembly language parts of my codes to gnu c/c++. We'll see. I see a "may" on the 2nd line which ought to be "made"--typing!
