I've just installed perl last night and came across a bit of information which might help. The documentation tells you you need a certain version of fileutils (version 3.16+) for building it under '95. As well as most of the other tools ie sed, gawk, grep sh-utils, textutils,bash, diffutils, make and findutils. _____________________________________________________________________ Campbell
