My programs are essentially mathematical, so in general correspond to an integer and/or floating number-crunching, with just a little of input/output and absolutely no mouse, windows ecc.ecc. So I'm completely satisfied with my pc+DOS+djgpp at home ad a workstation+gcc at work. Now it is the time to upgrade the hardware and (unfortunately) the OS. Since the processors are now powerful enough (and I'm accoustomed to unix or unix-like command line, while dos is always more and more 'encapsulated') I'm thinking about installing both windoze95 and Linux on the same pc. So a lazy question : it will be better (faster) to use djgpp under win95 or gcc under linux, under the above assumptions of no-user-interface ? I just wonder if there is a relevant difference. Does anybody know ? (No flame war please: I love djgpp) Giovanni.
