Why do you want to attach the data to the exe and not include it IN the exe?
Just curious, are you planing to make .dat files attached to exes?

DJP looks in the COFF header so I think it won't be a problem, but ask it to 
Laszlo (Molnar Laszlo <molnarl AT cdata DOT tvnet DOT hu>).
