I originally started writing it just to detect an MMX cpu, but I decided to make it more useful for others to use. I have submitted the code to be included in the next release of Allegro. Features include: Uses the cpuid instruction if supported Detects 386 thru Pentium 2 Detects FPU Detects MMX Correctly detects Cyrix cpu's which do not support the cpuid instruction Can be easily modified to detect more details as needed The source code can be found on my web page at: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/7220/ Phil +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Phil Frisbie's Programming Page- DJGPP,Games,3D,Visual Foxpro | | http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/7220/ | +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet
