I _think_ this would be possible: indeed it's the only way I can imagine that the Logitech driver could be made to work correctly. It would require us to emulate everything the int 0x33 driver currently does, though (speed adjustments, clamping to a screen region, finding a good curve for the relationship between mickeys and position deltas...) so it would be a fair amount of work.
