It tells you specifically what files you need in the file
'v2/readme.1st'.  Since you appear to be too lazy to do so yourself, I
will list them here:

v2/djdev201.zip
v2gnu/bnu27b.zip
v2gnu/gcc2721b.zip
v2gnu/gpp2721b.zip
v2gnu/lgp271b.zip

This should total no more than 17 megabytes or so, assuming that your
hard disk uses an 8K cluster size.  Larger disks will require slightly
more space.  This does not include the documentation viewer, DPMI host,
or anything but the absolute minimum files.  See chapter 4.6 of the FAQ
(v2/faq210b.zip) for a complete breakdown of package requirements.

BTW, you shouldn't be so quick to judge DJGPP by its size.  First, you
get a lot more functionality than with any other compiler out there. 
Second, the latest versions of Borland and MSVC take up humongous
amounts of space.
