Probably everyone will agree that Shawn Hargreaves is > a very skilled "vanila" C coder. Try to ask him that he thinks about C and > C++. I don't see any real greatness to RHIDE, I didn't like it much at all in fact, but that's probably just because it was developed independently of the compiler as opposed to BC 3.1 which I was used to. As for CP and OS/2, the parts about these programs that amaze me are their speed. The fastest and most important parts of boths of these programs were written in ASM... Read CP.DOC... Also, CP isn't that great. It does some neat stuff, but I have a few XMs that I've written that use a lot of filtersweeps, panning envelopes and effects on a lot of channels and this actually brings CP to a near-standstill whereas other players handle it no problem. +========================================================================+ | [pHiXx/VorteX] | +========================================================================+ | jah AT rrnet DOT com, adalee AT sendit DOT nodak DOT edu, phixx AT infinite DOT loop DOT org | | pyro AT fargo DOT k12 DOT nd DOT us, phixx AT continum DOT 4dcomm DOT com, phixx AT nether DOT net | | telnet://rrnet.com:2222, irc://rrnet.com:6666 or 6667, | | http://nether.net/~phixx, http://www.student.toplinks.com/hp/pHiXx | +------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | "1-2-3-4...Who's Punk, what's the score?" -- Jawbreaker | | "If you can't take the heat, don't burn down the kitchen." -- Pyro(me) | | "I still recall the taste of your tears, echoing your voice just like | | the ringing in my ears, my favorite dreams of you still wash ashore, | | scraping through my head 'til I don't wanna sleep, anymore." -- NIN | | "We mutilate the meanings so they're easy to deny."--Smashing Pumpkins | | "8, 8, I forget what 8 was for. . ."--Violent Femmes | +========================================================================+
