Last I checked,  Allegro didn't handle comms,  but there is a package out
there,
SVASYNC (not sure of the exact filename) that has a basic asynchronous com
interface. (I got it from either DJGPP's web site,  or from

DJGPP uses a port of the GAS assembler,  which uses AT&T syntax.  There's a
