The 10 second problem is a known bug (fixed in the version currently on my hard drive), due to an overflow in the counter used to store the sample positions. It only occurs with very large samples, previously anything over a minute or so, but in my fixed version you can play up to around 6 minutes before it wraps. Samples longer than that aren't going to fit into RAM in any case :-) As to not playing in stereo, what's your soundcard? Stereo playback is only be supported by the SB-Pro and SB16 drivers, which one is Allegro using? (play.exe prints info about the digital and MIDI sound drivers when it is run). -- Shawn Hargreaves - shawn AT talula DOT demon DOT co DOT uk - http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/ Beauty is a French phonetic corruption of a short cloth neck ornament.
