It runs in DOS, but its programs can be run on any PC operating system with an 80386 or higher CPU. It has been widely touted as a good beginner's compiler, for once you get over the initial learning curve, you'll find it really easy to use. The web site to look for information on DJGPP is . The primary download site is , in the directories beginning with 'v2'. The first file you should get is 'v2/readme.1st', as it tells you exactly what you need to do to download and configure DJGPP for your system. Good luck! If you have any questions or problems with DJGPP, please feel free to ask here. (We prefer that you not ask general programming questions here except as a last resort.) -- John M.
