Some of the features that GMS has that other FM trackers don't: * Supports Adlib, Soundblaster, and Soundblaster Pro I and II as separate modes. * Compose in 18-channel stereo (when in one of the Soundblaster Pro modes). * Samples can be played in parallel with the FM music. * Music "subroutines" can temporarily divert from the main tune to play a subtune. * FM effects (lasers, etc) can be handled by the music driver. * Public domain play routine, with full source code. Compiles under DJGPP 2.0/2.01 and Borland C++ 3.1. * Open module and instrument formats, fully documented. * A sane user interface. GMS requires: * A 386 or better computer running MS-DOS. * An Adlib, Soundblaster series, or 100% compatible soundcard. * A mouse (this is optional, but makes editing much easier). The best place to obtain GMS from is the author's web page, which is at: ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/ma/malyon/top.html It can also be downloaded from Simtelnet: ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/msdos/music/gms110.zip Roland Acton malyon AT netcom DOT com
