Short answer: use the 'redir' program that comes with the standard djgpp distribution like so: redir -o gcc.log -eo make The problem is that standard DOS using COMMAND.COM is incapable of redirecting output that is sent to 'stderr'. Besides using 'redir', you could try obtaining a smarter command interpreter such as 4DOS, Caldera OpenDOS, or the MS-DOS port of 'bash'. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- | John M.
