I've tried almost : I seem to recall reading something in the GUS SDK about MEGAEM not : working with protected mode apps, in which case it certainly won't work, : but I could well be mistaken, or that could have changed. Anyone have : any experience of this? This is true for the Classic and ACE. I've heard the MAX does support protected mode. This came from a conversation I had about Sam 'n' Max Hit the Road. My classic wouldn't work but someone's MAX would. I now have a GUS classic and an SB16. Now I don't have to worry. :-) It's worth the extra $60 for the full compatibility. True, you use up another slot and an IRQ and DMA, but them's the breaks. Or you could lose the full duplex thing on the GUS if you never use it.
