And what benefits it has ? "Mode-X" ist just another method of programming your VGA-card. It's an unchained 8-bit graphics mode. Advantages are selectable (higher) resolutions but real VESA-SVGA-Modes are better. If you want to have information on Mode-X you can download the PC-GPE (PC-GameProgrammersEncyclopedie) from my homepage. This is general low-level programming information.
