In fact I'm not interested in "converting" anyone at all. I don't care what OS that others use. My whole point is that some people are frustrated with their current OS, and would try out Linux if it were easier to set up/use. Only after *that* do applications come into play. There are a few commercial apps for Linux, and more on the way every day, so I don't see it as a big problem. If they ABSOLUTELY have to use Excel or Word 7, then they should either stay with 3.1 or 95, and forget about Linux, or else they should dual boot both OS's, OR they can get WABI. I don't think that Linux is competing with other OS's, nor do I feel that it ever will, or that it even WANTS to. It is just *THERE*. If someone wants to try it, then they can. If it works for them, then they'll use it. If it is too complicated, then they probably will give up. If it is easier to use, then they more than likely will consider it more. That will benefit the rest of the Linux community. That is all my point is. I'm not getting into an OS war. Linux is best *FOR ME*. I hope that others will find out what is best *FOR THEM*, and try out Linux to see if it does what they need. Mike A.
