MS's message states that you are NOT using MS-DOS and therefore they are NOT responsible for any incompatibilities you may experience. It is not a bogus error, it is a simple warning that you need to ensure you are using a 100% MS-DOS compatable product to run windows correctly. Any Moron who actually READS it should be able to figure it out real quick, were not talking brain surgery.
