Did you try : to use it? meta-x man RET asks for the page I want to view. I tried 'cat' and got: Symbol's function definition is void: start-process The Message buffer also mentions: Invoking man cat in the background I'm not up on this emacs in DOS stuff but I guess it can run a sub-process.
