Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII It was discovered that the original release of the directory install (not the disk image version) was missing IBMBIO.COM and IBMDOS.COM. This has been corrected. Caldera is now "officially" granting early access to the OpenDOS binaries to both the members of the opendos and djgpp mailing lists. They are doing this for two reasons. First, they'd like to make sure that the distribution packages are correct, and operate properly. Because the members of this list are primarily advanced computer users, this is a good plan. They can expect reliable feedback. If you have any questions or problems, please email me directly. (geneb AT wa DOT net) Second, they're doing it in appriciation of the support you fine people have given them. Please don't announce the availablity of the OpenDOS binaries to the general public as yet. Because of a mis-communication, I jumped the gun. They will be doing the general public release early next week. This delay is due to awaiting approval of the licensing agreement by their lawyers. The link that points to the OpenDOS download page is in the UK. This is the primary reason that some people are having a hell of a time downloading OpenDOS. If you are getting constant disconnects and are totally unable to get OpenDOS from the web site, I may be able to email the full install/disk image version to you. I won't do this for people that are getting it, but is just slow in transferring. To get OpenDOS from me in email, please send me a message with the subject of "Cannot Achieve Enlightenment!" and in the body of the message, put the last line of the Caldera OpenDOS licensing agreement as it appears on their web page. Thanks for your support. g.
