The packages that you need to compile C++ are v2gnu/gpp2721b.zip (the programs) and v2gnu/lgp271b.zip (the libraries and headers). It's all in 'readme.1st'. ;) If you are still having problems, then you should try consulting the Frequently Asked Questions list (v2/faq202b.zip), section 8.2.
