I have been gathering info on the machanincs of doing so. Someone had told me about GCC/DJGPP and NASM, as a tool set to use for a project like this. The QUESTION is: What MAKE options do I use to make it a loadable image. What is the minamal pmode setting are needed to load it. What function are IN djgpp, and what are OS calls. We have Written 16/32bit OSs in TASM, DASM, but are looking for a C + ASM tool set. We are aware that you cant call an INT 21h or such if you have not written/loaded it. Any pointers to info, or free/share ware tools will be apprecated. P.S. on comp.lang.asm.x86 & comp.os.misc we have discutions on this with OSDVL OSDEV, in the topic. And are trying to start a new news group comp.os.developement dedicated to the 'machanics' of writting OS. If you are interested please lurk/post and join in the RFD on staring it on news.groups -- Mark & Candice http://www.cris.com/~mhewii [frames] /|\ \|/[no frames] MHEWII AT CRIS DOT COM http://www.cris.com/~mhewii/buttons.html
