Thanks for taking the time to request more information on taking part in the Pre-Alpha testing program for the new MUSIC compiler. Right now, we are in the process of putting together our Pre-alpha test team, which is a group of programmers, much like yourself, who have shown an interest in the concepts of the compiler, and who have agreed to assist us in the early stages of our compiler's development, by sharing thier input and feedback on it's preformance. It is our believe that for a programming tool to be most effective, those using it them most, mainly the programmers, should be involved in shaping it's design, as opposed to an in-house programming team using thier interpretation of what you want. We are using a closed testing policy to help ensure that we get the best of feedback possible, while including only those who are truely interested in functioning as part of the team. If you are willing and interested enough to request more information, as you have done, and to fill in and return the application form below, that is a pretty good indication to us that you are seriously interested in assisting us. Before you fill out and return the below form, their are some very basic requirements that we are requesting that all participants meet. They include : > Have a general grasp of programming in general > be willing to work with the software, and submit at least one evaluation for each version or version update of the software that you download with 30 days of downloading it. > agree to the usage terms and license agreement (below) > have at least a 286 or compatible computer running DOS/Windows 3.x/ or Windows 95 Finally, please read the below usage license and agreement. You will have to forgive the lack of legal terminology and length, this is only a summary. If their are any lawyers out their, a full copy is available on request... --------------------------- START USAGE AGREEMENT -------------------------- 1) USER (you) assumes all liabilities for any direct or indirect damage that may be caused by the use or miss-use of this SOFTWARE (MUSIC). Further, USER agrees not to hold DEVELOPER (me) responsible for any way as a result of such actions. 2) DEVELOPER (me) grants the USER (you) a non-exclusive usage license only on the grounds that all conditions of this usage agreement remain met, and your involvement with DEVELOPER remains in good standings. DEVLOPER may remove your rights to use this software at any time without warning by written or electronic notice. 3) USER (you) is licensed to use this SOFTWARE (MUSIC) only. USER is not authorized to distribute, copy, or replicate the SOFTWARE to anyone or any group without prior written or PGP validated electronic notice. 4) This agreement can and will be updated at any time by the DEVELOPER (me), by simply providing electronic notice. Any new agreement will become binding at the time the new agreement is received, or the first time a software is used which has been distributed under the new agreement, which ever comes first. ------------------------- END USAGE AGREEMENT ------------------------------- If you have read, and agree to ALL of the above usage agreement terms, Then you are invited to fill out, and return the following application for alpha-testing.
