I haven't found a particular file that causes it; I have noticed that it occurs only when the line typed in exceeds the screen width (~80 chars) and a carriage return is pressed. The cursor jumps to the next line, as intended,but a portion of the line above is reproduced, like this: just a very long meaningless boring useless test sentence boring useless test sentence and text input freezes. Curiously enough, saving and reloading the file does not show the second sentence, so it looks like a screen output artifact. Alas, the problem is not reproducible at request; but when it occurs stopping Rhide and restarting is usually enough to "cure" it. The loaded file is never damaged. It could be the keyboard handler; could be QEMM; I don't know. I'll try fiddling with my system 'till it goes away. Thanks. Elliott
