If you mean "How can I create a library?" here is the short answer: ar -rvs libmylib.a object1.o object2.o ..... objectN.o The long answer is in the info manual pages for the ar utility. If you mean something else I cannot guess what that is. As for makefiles you can get documentation on GNU makefile extensions and make syntax in general from the FSF or get the nutshell book on make. -- Art S.
