We have downloaded Binary Utilities file(i.e bnutils-2.7.tar.gz) from simtelnet(GNU) site ,ran it on i386-LINUX machine to generate CrossAssembler with host as i80386-LINUX machine and target machine as PowerPc with ELF format. Now we want to port it to MSDOS.Is it possible to generate the required CrossAssembler from this package by specifying host and target options to the configure script i.e. configure --host=i386-intel-msdos --target=powerpc-unknown-elf As you ported many GNU softwares to DOS ,so please tell us how to proceed. Also tell whether pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/bnu252s.zip package can help us? If yes then which Operating System(i.e.MSDOS or LINUX) will be required to run it ? The mainproblems which we are facing are that we can't unzip this package in linux because it is not compressed by GZIP and if we unzip it in MSDOS using PKUNZIP then filenames get truncated, moreover all the configure files are shell scripts(Linux) . File name truncation problem can be solved by istalling WINDOWS95 but still it can't execute shell scripts. Please tell how to deal with this problem ? Please write it in detail. We will be grateful if you can help us in this regard. An early reply would be appreciated. Thanks & regards Mohit.
