The setting: SET DJGPP=E:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV or SET DJGPP=E:/DJGPP/DJGPP.ENV in autoexec.bat When DJGPP is installed in E:\DJGPP, was simply not working on my system. So instead, I put, in autoexec.bat, the line e:\djgpp\bin\setdjgpp.bat e:\djgpp e:/djgpp which configures the setting each time at startup. Having done that everything is working fine and smoothly with the original djgpp.env. I do not know if that is the way I was supposed to do it from the start. If it was, then sorry for all the trouble caused by this posting, and, anyway, thanks for all those who offered to help. Things are running smoothly now in DOS and win95 using the command line and RHIDE. Thanks again. This whole thing, DJGPP package and RHIDE is quite an impressive work along with the graphics libraries and cwsdpmi, now that I can use everything in the usual and regular fashion. > > Btw, what is disk E:?
