I've just tried fopen("longfilename.test","w"); on NT 4.0 Beta 2 (build 1314) and I got a file called "LONGFILE.TES". I also tried with SET LFN=y and got the same results. Either I'm doing something wrong, or the gossip has little basis. If anyone has a specific test to try, mail it to me and I'll give it a go.
