Does this happen for every program that you try to compile, or just for that particular program? Please download the DJGPP FAQ list (v2/faq200b.zip for DJGPP v2, v1/faq102.zip for v1.12) and search it for problems like you describe. If that doesn't help, please post the info about your system that is detailed in section 6.11 in the FAQ and the exact message (including those regsiters) that you see when gcc crashes.
