While GNU's info program works, I agree with Leath that it's anything but friendly. No flames, please! I find nothing about it to be intuitive, but I muddle through anyway, since it's the only way to read the DJGPP docs, and for some reason more and more packages are being released with only info files for documentation. Fred PS While this is even MORE off topic, I'll say it anyway: What I'm finding that I DO like, in terms of a documentation reader, is the way the on-line documenation is done in Elvis 2.0 (still in beta, at the moment). It's all in HTML, with highlighted words/phrases that are links to some other portion of the document, and Elvis understands enough HTML to be able to format and display (and print, too, if you wish) that particular subset of HTML. Anyway, just put the cursor on one of those highlighted thingies and hit ENTER, voila! you're there. And I was able to compile the latest beta (2.0p) with DJGPP 2.0 with only the slightest of hacking at the sources. While it's somewhat large, it's actually not quite as big as the one compiled with MSC 5.1, and if compiled with -O2 it is visibly faster. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .---- Fred Smith / Office: fred AT computrition DOT com ( /__ ,__. __ __ / __ : / 508-663-2524 / / / /__) / / /__) .+' Home: fredex AT fcshome DOT stoneham DOT ma DOT us / / (__ (___ (__(_ (___ / :__ 617-438-5471 -------------------------------- Jude 1:24,25 ---------------------------------
