Linux may have a 'sane' file system, but the people who put together the distributions must be insane, for every distribution I've ever seen had the filesystems running async rather than sync by default. Now that's certainly insane, unless you're prepared to have radical file system damage after an improper shutdown or kernel crash. Linux may be cool, but if you want to play or write games, there are a lot more products and users around in the DOS/Windows community.
