Although the ar docs don't say anything about valid archive filenames, they do seem to imply that it expects to see '.a' as the extension. Eli? BTW, DJGPP archives are NOT compatible with any other compiler's. The only reason I can see that you would want to make a '.lib' in the first place is for compatibility with Borland C, etc, and that just plain won't work. John P.S.
