I believe this procedure below is responsible. It is basically a subroutine that copies a block of memory to the screen. The program compiles properly under previous version fo djgpp and ran properly. but although it compiles under djggp2, it says general protection fault ehen ran. void lcopy(unsigned char *src, unsigned char *dest, long int size) { asm ("cld"); asm ("movl %0,%%edi":: "g" (dest):"%edi"); asm ("movl %0,%%esi":: "g" (src):"%esi"); asm ("movl %0,%%ecx":: "g" (size):"%ecx"); asm ("rep"); asm ("movsl (%esi), (%edi)"); } void transfer_screen(void) { lcopy(Virtual_Screen, 0xd0000000, 16000L); } can someone help? thanks in advance 004277a AT dragon DOT acadiau DOT ca http://dragon.acadiau.ca/~004277a
