DOS4GW is Rational Systems' DOS/4G DOS Extender stub executable, which is used by the Watcom C/C++ 32-bit compilers among others. Well, it was used by Doom, Dark Forces, and many other 32-bit commercial and shareware games, and it's copyrighted like hell. In that you are very right. The royalties necessary for distributing software that uses it are murderous to say the least. And of course, the answer is it will probably _never_ be supported by djgpp. And from my experiences developing under this system, it falls short in many respects compared to the DPMI that is used by djgpp. For one thing, there's no virtual memory (!), and there's that stupid DOS/4GW runtime message that shows up whenever you run these programs (as anyone who's ever played Doom knows)! And running DOS/4GW programs under Windows DOS boxes is an iffy proposition at best. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- University of the Philippines Rafael R.
