If so will DJGPP ever : incorporate it or is it very 'un-free' software? DOS4GW is a DOS extender that allows program to run in protected mode like GO32 for djgpp1. The program is included in the Watcom C/C++ compiler package and is used by default for 32 bit DOS applications. I think it is licensed from some third party who also sell a professional version of the extender that has some additional features (like putting the extender into the protected mode executable). Since djgpp has cwsdpmi and uses DPMI when available, I would guess that using this thing wouldn't have any advantages (well, maybe smaller exe size, but then who wants a 250k executable to load before each program). bye, Alexander -- Alexander Lehmann, | "On the Internet, alex AT hal DOT rhein-main DOT de (plain, MIME, NeXT) | nobody knows alexlehm AT rbg DOT informatik DOT th-darmstadt DOT de (plain) | you're a dog."
