If you don't believe it, download Quake (I would recommend this anyway :) and use a binary editor to look at the first few dozen bytes in ASCII mode. You'll see a copyright sign referring to stub.exe and djasm. If you do the same to any of your DJGPP files, you'll see exactly the same header. Look then at any Watcom executable (DOOM, Dark Forces, Duke Nukem 3D, etc) and you'll see something completely different. Therefore we have two options: (1) Watcom have ditched DOS4GW in favour of Charles's/DJ's DPMI loader stub (2) The Quake demo was written using DJGPP v2. I think (1) is even less plausible than (2) :) Cheers Fabian -- Fabian Nunez, Bsc(hons) student, University of Cape Town email:fnunez AT cs DOT uct DOT ac DOT za web:http//www.cs.uct.ac.za/~fnunez ---------------------------------------------------------------- "k3wl aRe th3 lAmErz, 4 thEy sh4ll RulE!" - from the ElitE Bible
