Man, how come I'm always too late. I was just thinking about trying to write a different runtime for DJGPP. I was hoping to base it on Tran's PMODE 3.0 and was even about to write Tran about that. What a fool I would have looked like| Now, could you give us more info about Tran's project? Will it be a brand-new runtime, or just a CWSDPMI replacement? Tran is a guru out there when it comes to DOS extenders, isn't he? I've been enjoying his PMODE/W quite for a while. Maybe he will include executable compression option in his PMODE/DJ as well? Now, I've a question about the timer interrupt. Does DJGPP hook it, or does it constantly (18.2 time/sec) cause mode switches? Does this cause a slowdown? Something more: can someone recommend any not-too-complicated 32 bit executable compression algorythm? *Maybe* I'll try a DJGPP exec compressor once I've some time... Though I doubt it would be possible to gain much. well, guess this is it for now, thanks for everything. Martynas Kunigelis
